Tips On Buying Sports Equipment Online

Buying sports equipment online in the UK can be a bit daunting, with shops offering discounts here and special offers there. It is so important however, that you manage to get a good deal on quality equipment. Here are some vital shopping tips for a safe experience when buying sports equipment online:

Exercise equipment stores Some stores will offer a good range of equipment at all prices, and others will only offer products within a particular price band. Whichever you buy from you must be sure that it is a reputable store with good knowledge of the sports industry. We suggest you buy from specialist fitness suppliers rather than department stores, as their advice into what to buy and their after sales care will be of much benefit to you.

Quality You may be tempted to buy discount or second hand equipment, please be aware that these will not end up being such a bargain as they are often a lot poorer in durability and workmanship. Although the price may seem inviting, you will end up having to work twice as hard to get the results that quality equipment will give you!

Warranties Be aware of equipment with a short, or parts only warranty. You need to make sure that you get value for money and that your equipment is going to last. Never buy equipment with a RETURN-TO-BASE warranty!

Compare prices This may seem like an obvious one, but it is so important to compare prices when shopping for sports equipment. The difference in some prices can be huge, what looks like a special offer in one store may actually be more than the standard price in another. Don't be sucked into buying the first thing you see, do your research and see what other stores have on offer.

Visit Millimart.com for more information on buying sports equipment online.

Wedding Invitation Etiquette

Wedding invitations are traditionally printed with black ink in an "engraved" or script type style. Before the actual wedding invitation is printed, there is one more formal letter known as Save the Date Announcement should be sent to your near and dear ones, so that they block that date for a particular wedding.

With so many families there are so many varieties of wedding invitation one can make. All the wedding invitations should contain all the information, like the date, venue, time, the place, the purpose of the party, the names of the bride and the groom, and their parents and other RSVP information.

For formal events there are certain etiquettes which should be observed. Write out names in full, including middle names. Omit the middle name if necessary, rather than using an initial.

It is appropriate to use the American spellings, unless you prefer to use the British spellings for "honor" and "favor."

Spell out all the words including the time, date and the hour of the event. Spell out all the words in the address including the road, street and avenue. There are only two exceptions to this rule; you can use St. in the place of Saint and Mt. in the place of Mount.

For ceremonies taking place in the house of worship, use "request the honor of the presence" and ceremonies in non-religious places use "request the presence of your company."

Wedding invitation wordings change, when the parents of the bride are issuing the card. Similarly, when the couple is issuing the card the wordings will be slightly different. Again if the bride or groom is divorced and remarrying the wording will be slightly different.

Normally, with the wedding invitation card the reception card will also be printed. If the reception is immediately after the wedding or at a later part of the day, it should be specified clearly. The venue, the time, the date should be clearly indicated.

The response card can be attached with the wedding invitation. You can also include menu choice for your guests in advance. If the wedding and the reception are in two different places, a map can be attached, so that it is easy for the guest to plan their movement in advance.

The address on the outer envelope as well in the response card should be written by hand to give a personal touch. The wedding invitation, the reception card, the response card or any other attachments like a map should be placed inside the envelope in the proper order. Mail your invitations at least six to eight weeks in advance.

Is Your Authentic Designer Handbag Really Authentic?

So, you have just bought a new designer handbag. Maybe you have had your eye on a Christian Dior Saddle Handbag, or Gucci Jackie-O that you know your friends will drool over . You got a huge discount off of the hefty retail price and you're feeling pretty good about yourself. But now you are wondering- is my designer handbag authentic.

Determining the authenticity on any product can be a little tricky, but if you know the basics, you will be able to spot a fake in just a few seconds.

One of the best ways to ensure your new handbag is authentic is to look at the bag itself. Designer handbags are popular and cost as much as they due because first and for-most they are made from quality materials. Take a good look at the stitching. There should be no loose or missing stitches, the color of the thread should match the main color of the bag and the stitches should be evenly spaced. If the handbag is leather, the logo should be engraved, not just printed on the leather.

Also take a look at the hardware. All of the hardware should match in color and sheen. The hardware should also be free of scratches. Many manufactures, including Gucci, Fendi and Prada, protect their hardware with a removable plastic cover that is to be removed only after it has been purchased. The brand name or logo should be engraved, not embossed or simply printed on the hardware. You can also find the brand name of logo engraved on the strap hardware on Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Chanel.

Inspect the material the bag; lining, hardware and accents are made of. Many handbags are made of different types of leather, from Lambskin, Calfskin, Goatskin and Patent Leather, but it is easy to distinguish if the leather is of a good quality or not. The lining is usually made of a satin material that has a nice shine to it and most designer handbags have the name brand name or logo on the lining. Designers almost always use leather accents, not plastic. Some purses have straps that are specially coated and seem to be artificial. However a quick look at the edge of the strap, usually near a stitched joint, should reveal a leather core.

Is there an authenticity card. An authenticity card is a little card that usually has the manufactures logo embossed on the front and has some information about the product you purchased and sometimes includes a magnetic strip, bar code. Many manufacturers, including Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Kate Spade and Coach, use these cards.

Check for a serial number. Not all manufacturers use serial numbers, but many do. The serial number for Fendi purses can be found on the inside pocket. Simply turn the pocket inside out and there will be a printed number on the fabric or possibly on the leather tag. Gucci includes a small leather tag on the zipper seam of the handbag which includes a serial number.

If you shop wisely, and inspect the bag carefully, you will be able to spot a fake from a mile away.

Out of town wedding guests are quite frequent in virtually any wedding. Weddings are in reality, the social events that encompass not just the union of two souls, but also of two families. As a result, it is quite natural for several wedding guests from out of town to arrive in order to attend the wedding. These may include near relations living abroad, distant relations, or even family friends. It is a part and parcel of any wedding to tend to these guests as diligently as the arrangements for the wedding itself.

Wedding guests occasionally, arrive to participate in the wedding ceremony itself. These may include even the best man or the bridesmaid, which are occasionally family friends. Hence, it is not at all uncommon to have these guests acting, as though the wedding is their personal affair as well, for in reality, it is. The wedding is, after all, an event for everyone to celebrate.

The first thing to be considered during the arrival of any guest from out of town is his or her accommodations. Even for out of town wedding guests, accommodations often have to be made. This is true especially for those who intend to stay with the families of the groom or the bride. This is largely the case with friends and relations intending to participate in the wedding ceremony. Making room for wedding guests makes the wedding affair appear to be a ruckus, but what is a celebration without a bit of hullabaloo anyway? It is just part of the fun before a wedding, and one should try to enjoy these rare occasions of liveliness without compromising anyones comfort.

Some if not most out of town guests often require arrangements to be made for their lodgings in local hotels or guesthouses. It is mandatory while arranging for such forms of lodging that comfort is kept at the top level of priority.

Some guests have a tendency to interfere unduly in the proceedings. It is only wise never to be impolite to out of town wedding guests, but such instances are not to be taken lightly. A single blemish on the wedding ceremony can remain as a scar forever. The best way to handle such guests is to keep them safely out of the way as much as possible by engaging them in affairs not directly concerned with the wedding.

They came to me just as described. Very comfortable. A good buy for $4, but would never have paid the advertised reg price of $20!

No new technology develops smoothly, and video conferencing had more than its share of bumps along the way before becoming the widely used communications staple it is today. The history of video conferencing in its earliest form goes back to the 1960s, when AT&T introduced the Picturephone at the Worlds Fair in New York. While viewed as a fascinating curiosity, it never became popular and was too expensive to be practical for most consumers when it was offered for $160 a month in 1970.

Commercial use of real video conferencing was first realized with Ericssons demonstration of the first trans-Atlantic LME video telephone call. Soon other companies began refining video conferencing technologies, including such advancements as network video protocol (NVP) in 1976 and packet video protocol (PVP) in 1981. None of these were put into commercial use, however, and stayed in the laboratory or private company use.

In 1976, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone established video conferencing (VC) between Tokyo and Osaka for company use. IBM Japan followed suit in 1982 by establishing VC running at 48000bps to link up with already established internal IBM video conferencing links in the United States so that they could have weekly meetings.

The 1980s introduce commercial video conferencing

In 1982, Compression Labs introduces their VC system to the world for $250,000 with lines for $1,000 an hour. The system was huge and used enormous resources capable of tripping 15 amp circuit breakers. It was, however, the only working VC system available until PictureTels VC hit the market in 1986 with their substantially cheaper $80,000 system with $100 per hour lines.

In the time in between these two commercially offered systems, there were other video conferencing systems developed that were never offered commercially. The history of video conferencing isnt complete without mentioning these systems that were either prototypes or systems developed specifically for in-house use by a variety of corporations or organizations, including the military. Around 1984, Datapoint was using the Datapoint MINX system on their Texas campus, and had provided the system to the military.

In the late 1980s, Mitsubishi began selling a still-picture phone that was basically a flop in the market place. They dropped the line two years after introducing it. In 1991, the first PC based video conferencing system was introduced by IBM PicTel. It was a black and white system using what was at the time an incredibly inexpensive $30 per hour for the lines, while the system itself was $20,000. In June of the same year, DARTnet had successfully connected a transcontinental IP network of over a dozen research sites in the United States and Great Britain using T1 trunks. Today, DARTnet has evolved into the CAIRN system, which connects dozens of institutions.

CU-SeeMe revolutionizes video conferencing

One of the most famous systems in the history of video conferencing was the CU-SeeMe developed for the MacIntosh system in 1992. Although the first version didnt have audio, it was the best video system developed to that point. By 1993, the MAC program had multipoint capability, and in 1994, CU-SeeMe MAC was true video conferencing with audio. Recognizing the limitations of MAC compatibility in a Windows world, developers worked diligently to roll out the April 1994 CU-SeeME for Windows (no audio), followed closely by the audio version, CU-SeeMe v0.66b1 for Windows in August of 1995.

In 1992, AT&T rolled out their own $1,500 video phone for the home market. It was a borderline success. That same year, the worlds first MBone audio/video broadcast took place and in July INRIAs video conferencing system was introduced. This is the year that saw the first real explosion in video conferencing for businesses around the globe and eventually led to the standards developed by the ITU.

International Telecommunications Union develops coding standards

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) began developing standards for video conferencing coding in 1996, when they established Standard H.263 to reduce bandwidth for transmission for low bit rate communication. Other standards were developed, including H.323 for packet-based multi-media communications. These are a variety of other telecommunications standards were revised and updated in 1998. In 1999, Standard MPEG-4 was developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group as an ISO standard for multimedia content.

In 1993, VocalChat Novell IPX networks introduced their video conferencing system, but it was doomed from the start and didnt last. Microsoft finally came on board the video conferencing bandwagon with NetMeeting, a descendent of PictureTels Liveshare Plus, in August of 1996 (although it didnt have video in this release). By December of the same year, Microsoft NetMeeting v2.0b2 with video had been released. That same month, VocalTecs Internet Phone v4.0 for Windows was introduced.

VRVS links global research centers

The Virtual Room Videoconferencing System (VRVS) project at Caltech-CERN kicked off in July of 1997. They developed the VRVS specifically to provide video conferencing to researchers on the Large Hadron Collider Project and scientists in the High Energy and Nuclear Physics Community in the U.S. and Europe. It has been so successful that seed money has been allotted for phase two, CalREN-2, to improve and expand on the already in-place VRVS system in order to expand it to encompass geneticists, doctors, and a host of other scientists in the video conferencing network around the world.

Cornell Universitys development team released CU-SeeMe v1.0 in 1998. This color video version was compatible with both Windows and MacIntosh, and huge step forward in pc video conferencing. By May of that year, the team has moved on to other projects.

In February of 1999, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) was launched by MMUSIC. The platform showed some advantages over H.323 that user appreciated and soon made it almost as popular. 1999 was a very busy year, with NetMeeting v3.0b coming out, followed quickly by version three of the ITU standard H.323. Then came the release of iVisit v2.3b5 for both Windows and Mac, followed by Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), version 1. In December, Microsoft released a service pack for NetMeeting v3.01 (4.4.3388) and an ISO standard MPEG-4 version two was released. Finally, PSInet was the first company to launch H.323 automated multipoint services. Like we said, 1999 was a very busy year.

SIP entered version 1.30 in November of 2000, the same year that standard H.323 hit version 4, and Samsung released their MPEG-4 streaming 3G video cell phone, the first of its kind. It was a hit, particularly in Japan. Rather predictably, Microsoft NetMeeting had to release another service pack for version 3.01.

In 2001, Windows XP messenger announced that it would now support Session Initiation Protocol. This was the same year the worlds first transatlantic tele-surgery took place utilizing video conferencing. In this instance, video conferencing was instrumental in allowing a surgeon in the U.S. to use a robot overseas to perform gall bladder surgery on a patient. It was one of the most compelling non-business uses in the history of video conferencing, and brought the technology to the attention of the medical profession and the general public.

In October of 2001, television reporters began using a portable satellite and a videophone to broadcast live from Afghanistan during the war. It was the first use of video conferencing technology to converse live with video with someone in a war zone, again bringing video conferencing to the forefront of peoples imaginations.

Founded in December of 2001, the Joint Video Team completed basic research leading to ITU-T H.264 by December of 2002. This protocol standardized video compression technology for both MPEG-4 and ITU-T over a broad range of application areas, making it more versatile than its predecessors. In March of 2003, the new technology was ready for launch to the industry.

New uses for video conferencing technologies

2003 also saw the rise in use of video conferencing for off-campus classrooms. Interactive classrooms became more popular as the quality of streaming video increased and the delay decreased. Companies such as VBrick provided various MPEG-4 systems to colleges across the country. Desktop video conferencing is also on the rise and gaining popularity.

Companies newer to the market are now refining the details of performance in addition to the nuts and bolts of transmission. In April of 2004, Applied Global Technologies developed a voice-activated camera for use in video conferencing that tracks the voice of various speakers in order to focus on whoever is speaking during a conference call. In March 2004, Linux announced the release of GnomeMeeting, an H.323 compliant, free video conferencing platform that is NetMeeting compatible.

With the constant advances in video conferencing systems, it seems obvious that the technology will continue to evolve and become an integral part of business and personal life. As new advances are made and systems become more reasonably priced, keep in mind that choices are still determined by network type, system requirements and what your particular conferencing needs are.

Dearfoams Men's Univeristy of Michigan Clog

Hemorrhoids are an uncomfortable and embarrassing fact of life for millions of people around the world, particularly the middle-aged and elderly living relatively sedentary lives. Hemorrhoid treatment can vary from topical ointments to surgical intervention, depending on the severity of the case. Western medicine often concerns itself primarily with targeting the symptoms, and not paying much attention to the contributing factors. Thankfully, the condition can often be prevented with a few precautions.

Hemorrhoids, also known as Piles, are enlarged veins that protrude inside the rectum. They can cause a painful, burning sensation in the rectum, discomfort in sitting, and make bowel movements an unpleasant affair. It is estimated that up to 85% of the elderly population of North America require hemorrhoids treatment at some point. They are often caused by extensive sitting and standing, straining while having a bowel movement as a result of constipation, lifting of heavy objects in such a way as to cause undue strain in the rectum, and possibly be hereditary.

Hemorrhoids Treatment

There is a wide variety of hemorrhoids treatment available today, from the standard Western medical approach to naturapath holistic methods. Each has its own level of risk, cost and effectiveness. Here is an overview:

Medical Hemorrhoids Treatment

The most common treatment is a topical cream which reduces swelling. There are various brand names available over-the-counter, and some prescription only creams. More invasive methods include cryogenic freezing, called 'scelerotherapy', done by injecting directly into the hemorrhoid. Another surgical method is to apply a rubber band ligature, which cuts off the circulation and then they either fall off or are cut out.

Acupuncture Hemorrhoids Treatment

Acupuncture is a healing method which has been practiced in China for thousands of years. Acupuncture affects the central nervous system, and works by focusing on the general health and immune system of the patient, rather than on specific symptoms. Acupuncture hemorrhoids treatment can be quite effective.

Herbal Hemorrhoids Treatment

When using an herbal treatment, it is best to begin by having a warm soak in a bath or sitz bath. Adding epsom salts can help reduce swelling. The Japanese Pagoda tree has properties that are believed to strengthen vein walls, and improve circulation. Bioflavonoids and Horse chestnut are also known to have positive effect. After the bath, ointment containing the herbs can be applied topically directly to the affected area and left overnight.

Diet Considerations

When it comes to finding an effective hemorrhoids treatment, there is none better than focusing directly on diet. This is because they are often caused by straining during constipation, and constipation is a direct result of poor diet. Rule number one is: drink plenty of water. Most Americans are chronically dehydrated, and not even aware of it. Second rule is to eat a diet high in fibre. Great sources of fibre are psyllium seeds, beets, green beans, cabbage, citrus fruits and oats. Any high vegetable diet will do. Also highly effective is to take one to two tablespoons of flax seed oil daily, and drink mild chamomile tea, a natural regulator. In cases of extreme constipation, laxatives can help but they mustn't be taken on an ongoing basis.

The best method of hemorrhoids treatment is to pay careful attention to the diet, and be sure to eat plenty of fibre and drink plenty of water. Use herbal remedies and soothing baths to ease immediate symptoms, but in the long run it is a healthy diet that will be the most effective hemorrhoids treatment you can have.

A bridesmaid is the person, who helps the bride with all the arrangements for the wedding, prior, during and post. The principal or the most important bridesmaid is called the "maid of honor" or the "matron of honor" (if she is married).

The bridesmaids are generally more than one in number and are attired in clothing similar to that of the bride. This comes from the belief that such similar clothing will tend to confuse the evil spirits about the identity of the bride and will keep her safe guarded against them.

As the bride is accessorized with various other items to go with her attire, the bridesmaids also have the options of various accessories such as purses, handbags, shoes, gloves, tiaras, etc. An invitation to be a bridesmaid is a matter of honor and even though it carries the burden of financial responsibility of buying their own attire and accessories, hosting the bridal shower, etc it is usually accepted without any qualms.

It is important to pick up shoes that are comfortable as the bridesmaid needs to be on her toes through out the wedding day. If the decision is based on style and comfort, comfort should always take more importance than style.

It is difficult to find shoes that go with the bridesmaid's dress. In such a case, it is easier to pick up a pair of shoes that can be dyed to match the color of the dress. Shoes that can be dyed to the desired color come in materials such as satin, silk or leather. They are usually white or slightly off-white in color. An off-white color is generally preferred over a white shoe because the latter usually comes with a bluish hue that may change the color of the shoe when dyed.

It is important to remember that these shoes may run color if it gets wet. So it is necessary to check with the person dyeing the shoes whether this can happen. If the chance of such a thing happening exists, the shoes can be sprayed with a water repellant to avoid damage. But, once this is done it may not be possible to re-dye the shoe at a later date.

The shoe may appear different when exposed to different lighting and therefore it is essential to check the dyed shoes under different lights, preferably in a light box to check the effect of light on the shoes.

It is better if a sample of the dyed color is seen before it is applied onto the shoes because once it is applied it may not be possible to change the color. However, the color of the shoe may not be a complete perfect match to the color of the dress and there may be some slight difference.

If there are several bridesmaids, then it is better if all their shoes are dyed with the same person to maintain consistency. It is also essential to remember that the process takes about 2-3 weeks and shopping for the shoes should be completed early so that the shoes can be dyed and received back in time for the occasion.

Once the wedding is over, the shoes can be re-dyed to a different color so that they can be matched to the regular wardrobe or used as they are.

Do you need some bridesmaid gifts such as tote bags, cosmetic bags, spa slippers and more. We also have some beach wedding favors, silver favors, bottle stopper favors or even some winter favors.
